New to Amazon Prime Video: A cinema masterpiece from 2020 with Daniel Craig and Chris Evans

“Knives Out” by director Rian Johnson is clearly one of the best films of 2020. Anyone who missed the crime thriller with Daniel Craig in the cinema can catch it up on Amazon Prime Video from September 2nd, 2020!

Before the corona pandemic put a damper on the 2020 cinema year, we were able to look forward to some cinema highlights in January and February. Including “Knives Out – Murder is a family matter” by “Star Wars 8” director Rian Johnson. The crime comedy with stars like Daniel Craig (“James Bond 007 – No Time to Die”), Chris Evans (“Avengers 4”) and Ana de Armas (“Sergio”) won 4.5 stars in the review and colleague Christoph Petersen awards the rating “lousy entertaining” – but read for yourself:

This is what “Knives Out” is about

Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer), a successful crime writer and family patriarch, is found dead shortly after his 85th birthday and leaves numerous potential heirs. Why the old man died so suddenly is not clear. Private detective Benoit Blanc (Craig) is supposed to clarify the matter and takes a close look at the family who are still in the house after the birthday party.

Nobody wants to have seen or noticed anything. But Blanc quickly realizes that he is in the middle of a web of intrigue, lies and false claims. The guests, including Ransom Drysdale (Evans) and his parents Linda (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Richard (Don Johnson), are not particularly cooperative and the family celebration quickly becomes a criminal case …

“Knives Out 2” in planning!

Those who want more after “Knives Out” will probably get more soon. So “Knives Out 2” is actually an officially confirmed thing and the makers of the crime comedy are even thinking about producing a whole series with a nose for Benoit Blanc.

We don’t know yet what exactly will happen in “Knives Out 2” FMOVIES. It is very likely, however, that Blanc will meet a completely new cast in a sequel and, of course, a new criminal case.
